Song: Old Folks, Young Folks

The words to the song sung in the early
Kuna Methodist Episcopal Church Sunday School,
some verses written by Rev. J.H. Ross and
some "borrowed" (according to Art Ross, his son)

CHORUS: Old folks, young folks, everybody come.
Join the the Kuna Sunday School and you'll have lots of fun.
Please check your chewing bum and pistos at the door
and you'll hear some Bible stories that you've never heard before!

Adam was the first man that ever was invented.
He lived alone but he was contented.
God made him out of mud in the days gone by,
and hung him on a fence in the sun to dry.       CHORUS

Adam was a gardner and Eve was his spouse.
They took a place in Eden and went to keepin' house.
Their life it was a happy one contented in the main,
til Eve had a baby boy and started raisin' cane.    CHORUS

Noah was a carpenter, he built himself an ark.
When he got it built, there was no place to park.
Then came the moisture, a very heavy dew,
and Noah wondered what in the world he was going to do.   CHORUS

Along came the animals, two by two,
the Jim-jameramas and the jumpin' kangaroos.
For forty days and forty nights they sailed the ocean blue,
and when they reached New York, they sold the monkeys to the zoo.  CHORUS

Jonah was a mariner as thin as any rail.
He came across on a Transatlantic whale.
When he neared the shore he felt depressed
so he pusched a little button and the whale did the rest.   CHORUS

David was a shepherd lad, a plucky little cuss,
along came Goliath, a lookin' for a fuss.
When Davey saw he'd have to fight or bust,
he picked up a rock and beaned him on the crust.  CHORUS

King Ahab had an ornery wife. Her name was Jezebel.
While hangin' out clothes one day, why off the roof she fell.
Your wife's gone completely to the dogs they told the King
and Ahab said he'd never heard of such a dog-gone thing.  CHORUS

King Solomon and King David led wild and riotous lives.
Each had a thousand castles, each had a thousand wives.
Along came old age with its fears and its qualms.
Solomon wrote the Songs and David wrote the Psalms.    CHORUS

Delilah was a pretty gal, had the boys on the run.
Along came Sampson a lookin' for some fun.
She cut off his hair and they cut off his head.
Now theres a moral there or so it has been said.   CHORUS

Centennial Verse:
Here we are a-celebratin' the first 100 years.
May the church be a growin' till were full up to our ears.
May the faithful come to feel their spirits soar
and hear the words of Jesus as they did in years of yore.  CHORUS
