It’s an old story with deep meaning. A story that moves from the rich & powerful (emperor and governor) to the lowly (transient and day laborers). And there is God in the gift of new life, the birth of Jesus the Christ.
I wonder if God’s love language is giving gifts. God gifted us with Jesus, with coming to be our brother on this earth, with peace, hope, joy, and love. We celebrate this holy gift with the love language of giving gifts to others. But the greatest gifts we have to offer, like God, are time, attention, presence, and love.
Celebrate this greatest gift, the birth of the Christ child, this Sunday at 4pm or 11pm.
