Some parts of Christian living are just so clear from the gospels: love your enemies, care for the poor, stand up for the oppressed, pray, share the Lord’s communion, read Scripture, etc. Other parts of Christian living are not so clear and have been debated and re-debated throughout the centuries. In the early church, a big debate was whether Gentiles (non-Jews) had to be circumcised (like Jews).It was conflict and it was important to the people at the time. This conflict was neither ignored nor did it blow up. What can we learn? The early church can teach us about faithfully engaging in conflict that reveals the glory of God. Hear more this Sunday.
