SALT & LIGHT

Jesus told his disciples they are salt and light. Jesus tells us the same thing. Both salt and light only matter as they relate to other things. Plain salt is pretty nasty, but salt in bread or on meat makes it amazing! Light by itself we can barely see, but light reflected off surfaces illuminates the world. With both salt and light, their effect is so much bigger than their small contribution. And that is what Jesus says we are. Our faith, our cooperation with God’s good mission in the world, is so much bigger than ourselves. The fresh start you make right now changes the world, because God is changing the world through us. Even when our piece seems small or insignificant, God works it all together into something amazing! You matter. Your mission matters. This year matters. Peace, Pastor Mia
