In Scripture, our ancestors in faith followed a pattern in their spiritual journeys:
they doubted & questioned (real, honest, hard questions!)
God responded with grace
they were filled with renewed faithfulness
When we doubt and question, we are in good company! Even more than that, our questions and doubts give God room to move, spiritual space to fill with grace. They are an essential part of the spiritual journey.
Last Sunday, we wrote down our personal questions to God, knowing that the more real and honest the question, the greater God has to work with. This week, take that question(s) out each day. Let its mystery fill you again. Ponder it in your heart. And then be on the watch for God’s grace to meet you.
