I am a do-er. I like to do things and I like to accomplish things. I set up goals and then celebrate when I can mentally check them off. When I was baptized I wanted to do the Christian thing and I searched for guidance on what to do. Jesus did not disappoint.
In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus lays out this invitation to the kingdom of heaven in chapters 5-7, in what is often called the Sermon the Mount. We are starting a worship series this Sunday based on these teachings. They are lifestyle teachings that offer salvation right here and right now. Instead of just passively showing up, we get to be sent into the game!! We get to live a life of discipleship where every day we are part of God’s mission to save the world. Wow!! Amazing!! Inspiring!!
