In the early church, you truly risked your life to go to church and to be a known Christian. So faith really mattered and it HAD to make a difference in your life. While the stakes are lower today, the need for relevance has not gone down one bit.

The truth is that either religion is everything, changing every part of our lives, orienting us toward God in all things, or it truly doesn’t matter. That’s how it was for Jesus, and that’s how it is for us.

We’re going to spend 10 weeks on the Ten Commandments, looking at them through the eyes of Jesus. We’ll start with who is God and why God is worth our entire lives.

Recently, there has been renewed interest in posting the Ten Commandments in public spaces like schools and court houses. Our church has opposed these efforts, supporting the separation of church and state, because we think we do a LOT better job teaching the Ten Commandments than any government could. So that’s exactly what we’ll be doing. This will be a great series to invite your friends to!!

Peace,

Pastor Mia
