The U.S. Surgeon General recently issued an advisory on the public health crisis of loneliness and isolation. Check out the full report here: https://www.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/surgeon-general-social-connection-advisory.pdf
We are created for connection and the unity of belonging. From the very beginning, God has called a people together, not individuals alone. The Christian faith began in community, a community grounded in common love for Christ and commitment to discipleship. We know that Christ’s salvation is today and not yet, and today our Christian connection is saving.
The surgeon general recommends cultivating a culture of connection. It is part of our spiritual life. We cultivate a culture of connection when we:
gather for Sunday worship,
come together and bring friends to Community Sundays and Messy Church,
gather in small groups or Bible Study,
serve our community
Praise God that we are called together!
Peace,
Pastor Mia
