Simon the Pharisee sees a woman anointing Jesus’ feet. She’s a sinner, a woman, and she does not belong at his dinner party. Simon just sees the “wrong” person touching Jesus. And then Jesus asks Simon about his sight: Do you see this woman?
What we see changes the way we approach the world. Growing in discipleship is learning to see like Jesus: seeing for understanding, seeing wisdom and faith in all the “wrong” places. And then uplifting and blessing.
