JOURNEY

This Sunday we wrap up this sermon series with a focus on journey. The butterfly has emerged, unfolded, let go, and started flying. Now it is off on a journey, just like we are.
The Christian life can feel complicated and heavy. But it really is simple and light. Just let go, fly, on a journey toward/with God. I don’t think it matters too much how we do it, as long as we are headed toward God. Jesus said “follow me” and wasn’t very explicit on how to follow. It will be different for each one of us.
This Sunday we celebrate that sacrament of welcome: baptism. Sacraments are outward signs of God’s inward pouring of grace. Sacrament don’t create the grace of God, but celebrate what God has already done. This Sunday Brenda Blitman will be baptized and we will all celebrate that God has called her to follow, called her to faith, and called her to this Christian community.
Peace,
Pastor Mia
