LAMENT & COMMUNITY

pastormia20

In community, we are caught up in forces bigger than us, and we lament. We lament that sexism still exists. That racism is still part of our world. We lament that oppression and discrimination have not been dismantled.

And we lament when horrible crimes are committed and then we struggle with what to do. The foiled execution last week brought this front and center. How do we best honor the lives of the victims? How do we also honor the God-given life of the convicted one? This is not easy. Faithful Christians come to different conclusions, but God, the giver of wisdom, is with us. Whether you are pro-death penalty or anti-death penalty, God has some wisdom for you to consider.

Peace,

Pastor Mia
