OPEN TO FREEDOM

I remember hearing about faith & freedom before Jesus got a hold of me. It didn’t make any sense. From what I could see, faith was just following a strict set of rules. Didn’t look free to me at all.

And then life happened. And Jesus got a hold of me. And I came to realize how off my perspective was. Firstly, as I just grew up, I realized how many rules were for my benefit and not actually oppressive. And as my faith grew, I also found much it changed my life and what I cared about. Suddenly, the love I felt from God was giving me love for other people. I started living differently, because I cared differently — about myself and about others. And it actually gave me freedom.

This Sunday is Crop Walk. It’s another way we show our love for others, by joining an effort to end hunger.
