OUR WAY IS MADE BY OTHERS

This ancient bridge crossed the river into the town Melide at the end of our 3rd day. It was built over 800 years ago and has been used by pilgrims ever since on their pilgrimage to Santiago.
Every aspect of our lives has been made by others – from the books we read, the media we love, the cars we drive, the bridges we cross, to the language we speak — from their work and creativity. Every step we take on the spiritual journey is on a path built by those who have come before us.
The Bible is fundamentally a faith witness left to use by believers long ago so that we might experience God like they did. It uses story (gospels), letters (Paul), poetry (psalms), instruction (proverbs), and allegory (Revelation).
Each of us heard about Jesus from a person, someone who introduced us to faith and changed our lives.
On the Camino, we crossed bridges built by others, walked a trail built by others, stayed at pensiones built by others, and ate food cooked by others. In the spiritual life we could also know deep dependence on others in every aspect of our lives.
How have others made the way for your faith?
How have you made the way for others?
Peace,
Pastor Mia
