During Lent, we own the ways that we have caused rupture in our relationship with God — by disregarding God, by ignoring those God loves, by failing to follow Christ, by being part of the problem instead of the solution. We take responsibility and ask for God’s mercy, getting ready to celebrate God’s greatest repair: the Resurrection!!
The death and resurrection of Christ are at the core of the Christian faith, and yet they remain mysterious. We spend our entire lifetimes re-experiencing and re-understanding what God has done for us, accepting that we can never fully “get it” while staying deeply engaged with God.
