I was recently listening to Mark Clark in a lecture on preaching and he talked about the good news. He pointed out that most people who aren’t Christian don’t feel like they need saving. When he was a young adult he was partying and enjoying himself and he did not feel like anything was missing from his life. His point was that telling people they are missing something that Jesus can provide will fall on deaf ears.
Instead of discipleship providing a solution to problems, it’s actually something so wonderful and so good that we become fascinated and enraptured by it.
What’s so good about the good news? It’s a great question to take to prayer. I know that I am just barely able to wrap words around my own experience. How would you answer that question?
Peace,
Pastor Mia
