Last Sunday the leadership team discussed their responses to “Why Jesus?” Or, “Why be Christian?” These were our responses. Lots of them!! Some overlap and some are quite different. None are wrong. This diversity speaks to how one God can be so meaningful to very different people.
What would your response be? There probably would be a lot of different things. Spend some time journaling on it, and share with others as opportunity arises.
Our responses will be grounded in what we value. Not a surprise that Jesus spends a lot of time talking about value in the gospels, and especially that primary measure of value we all struggle with: money.
And it really matters. What we value is the difference between peace and war, between conflict and contentment, between faith and distrust. Jesus calls us to shrewdness (street smarts!) in deciding what we value.
Peace,
Pastor Mia
